HRANICON 30 - Contact Adhesive

Polychloroprene based contact adhesive. It has excellent adhesion to most surfaces and that is why it has a variety of usage.

Usage:

Bonding of:

• hand application of ABS edges
• polyurethane and polyether foam
• wood and metal
• plastic boards
• natural and synthetic fabrics
• real and synthetic leather

Characteristics:

The adhesive Hranicon 30 varies from transparent to yellow colour. It is based on polychloroprene. The joint is strong and flexible with a good resistance to aging, moisture and low temperature.

There are also various limitations. Hranicon 30 is not recommended for bonding plasticized PVC and its derivates. The plasticizers contained in the products can penetrate into the adhesive layer to compromise bond strength.

Application:

All surfaces should be dry and free from dust, contamination oils and release agents. If necessary, use a solvent to clean the surfaces. Apply the product generously onto both surfaces either by brush or spatula. Place the two surfaces together and apply pressure to achieve immediate contact and avoid blisters. In situations where you have left the item open before assembling you can make a short heat reactivation by putting the product under an infrared lamp or by a hot air fan. On high porous surfaces, two coats of adhesive are recommended. Hranicon 30 can be diluted using a suitable solvent. The same solvent can also be used to clean working tools.

Hranicon 30 film is tenacious and flexible, with good resistance to ageing, moisture and low temperature. The final bond strength should be measured 48 hours after the bonding process. Bonding of PVC and its derivatives is not recommended. Plasticizers contained in these products can migrate into the adhesive layer compromising the seal of the joint.

The product is highly flammable. Make sure that the equipment used for handling is correctly connected to the ground to avoid the accumulation of electrostatic charges.

Before curing you can clean it by acetone or by versatile cleaning agent Hraniclean 01. After curing clean it mechanically. Do not wash hands with solvents.

Packaging and storage:

The product is stable for 8 months max if stored appropriately. The product must be stored at temperature between 10 and 35 °C on its closed original containers. If stored in low temperature, it is enough to warm the adhesive to the room temperature before usage.
